Practical class № 3. The remake project
Topic: Grammar: Present Continuous. Vocabulary: clothes, prepositions of place. Pronounciation: /ə/ and /ɜ:/
Aim:
To enable students to use the Present Continuous tense correctly in oral and written communication; to expand and practice vocabulary related to clothes and prepositions of place; to improve pronunciation of the vowel sounds /ə/ and /ɜ:/.
Methods:
- Presentation and explanation of grammar rules and new vocabulary.
- Guided and controlled practice through written and oral exercises.
- Pair and group work activities describing clothes and people’s positions using the Present Continuous.
- Listening and pronunciation drills focusing on /ə/ and /ɜ:/.
- Communicative games and role-plays to consolidate grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in real-life contexts.
Procedure:
Task 1. Do the Vocabulary assignments (a, b, c).
Task 2. Do the Pronounciation tasks (a, b).
Task 3. Be ready with the Grammar tasks (a, b, c, d).
Materials required for сompleting the tasks
Form of presenting results on performed activities: written tasks are delivered by electronic files for further assessment.
Assessment criteria: 5 points
5 points – all written tasks are performed correctly, minor spelling mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
4 points – 80 – 90 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 20 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
3 points – 50 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 30 – 40 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
2 points – 30 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 50 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
1 point – 10 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 60 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
