Practical class № 4. Practical English: Hotel problems. Can you remember?
Topic: Practical English: Hotel problems: calling reception. Can you remember..? Revison 1.
Aim:
To develop students’ practical communication skills in real-life situations related to hotel problems and calling reception; to revise and consolidate previously learned grammar and vocabulary through “Can you remember..?” and Revision 1 activities.
Methods:
- Role-plays and situational dialogues simulating hotel problems and phone conversations with reception.
- Listening and speaking activities for practicing functional phrases in real-life contexts.
- Pair and group work to encourage interactive communication.
- Revision exercises (“Can you remember..?” and Revision 1) to review and reinforce grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
- Guided practice followed by freer speaking tasks to build students’ confidence and fluency.
Procedure:
Task 1. Do tasks (a, b) from Point 1 Calling Reception.
Task 2. Be ready with the assignment 2 I'll.
Task 3. Сarry out the task 3 Social English (a, b).
Task 4. Complete the Revision Tasks (1-4).
Materials required for сompleting the tasks
Form of presenting results on performed activities: written tasks are delivered by electronic files for further assessment.
Assessment criteria: 5 points
5 points – all written tasks are performed correctly, minor spelling mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
4 points – 80 – 90 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 20 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
3 points – 50 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 30 – 40 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
2 points – 30 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 50 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
1 point – 10 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 60 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class.
