Topic: Grammar and vocabulary revision
Aim: To consolidate and assess students' mastery of future forms, relative clauses, and the Present Perfect tense, while reinforcing vocabulary related to housework, shopping, and travel, and developing reading and listening comprehension skills.
Methods:
- Comprehensive grammar assessment: Completing multiple-choice tasks to verify the correct use of be going to, Present Continuous for arrangements, relative pronouns, and the Present Perfect.
- Vocabulary reinforcement: Practicing dependent prepositions, collocations with make and do, and completing lexical sets for household chores, airport facilities, and retail items.
- Adjective discrimination: Identifying and applying the correct usage of adjectives ending in -ed vs. -ing in various descriptive contexts.
- Reading for specific detail: Analyzing an article on the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) to understand how new words like vlog, gastropub, and tweet are created and integrated into English.
- Listening comprehension: Extracting details from interviews where speakers discuss airport experiences, housework preferences, and online shopping problems.
- Functional speaking self-assessment: Performing "Can you...?" tasks to demonstrate the ability to talk about plans, paraphrase terms (e.g., selfie stick), and recount personal experiences.

Assessment criteria: 10 points
10 points – all written tasks are performed correctly, minor spelling mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class, the results of the completed tasks are submitted on time.
9 points – 80 – 90 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 20 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class, the results of the completed tasks are submitted on time.
8 points – 70 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 30 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class, the results of the completed tasks are submitted on time.
7 points – 60 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 40 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, a student actively fulfills tasks in the class, the results of the completed tasks are submitted on time.
6 points – 50 percent of written tasks are performed correctly, 50 percent of spelling and grammar mistakes are allowed, the results of the completed tasks are submitted on time.
