The horizontal distance from the axis of rotation to the center of gravity of a freely suspended load. In mobile-crane practice, this is defined as the horizontal distance from a projection of the centerline of rotation to the ground, before loading, to the center of a vertical hoist line while under load. Also called a Load radius and Operating radius
